Hardwood timber deck alongside a Mudgee home

Decking

Decks that stay flat, level and tight for decades.

Hardwood or composite boards on timber or steel sub-frames, set out so the joins land where they should and the fall runs away from the house.

Hardwood timber

Australian hardwood — spotted gum, blackbutt, ironbark — with the grain and colour movement you only get from real timber. Pre-oiled, hidden or plug fixed to your preference.

  • Ironbark milled in-house
  • Hidden or plugged fixings
  • Oiled or left to silver

Composite timber

Capped composite boards for pool surrounds and high traffic areas. No splinters, no oiling, no annual sanding — just a wash down.

  • No annual re-oiling
  • Splinter free underfoot
  • Colour stable in full sun

Steel framed sub-structure

Galvanised steel bearers and joists where the deck is high, close to ground, or over reactive soil. Dead flat, termite proof, and it will not twist as it dries.

  • Won't warp or twist
  • Termite proof
  • Perfect for elevated decks

Detailing is the difference.

Board gaps set for the season, joists at the right centres for the board, fixings lined up, edges mitred and the frame ventilated so it dries out after rain. It costs a little more time on site and years of life at the other end.
